What is the best brand and type of TV to buy?

Question

It needs to be around 40", plasma or lcd, and will be in a bright room. It will be used a lot.

So what would be better to get plasma or lcd?

From what I saw sony, pioneer, and samsung were pretty good, but I don't know how it will look in a bright room (the display area was really dark. Which one would you recommend?

buy an lcd because it doesn't reflect light and plasmas do which will make it hard for u to watch in the day . ohh ye buy this tv it's 42" Philips it came out this month it cost $999.99 at costco it's $200 off . it's 1080p ,16:9,1920x1080, and very high contrast ratio of 29,000:1 dynamic and the brightness is 500 cd/m² which will look good in a bright room
