What is the best brand for a compact digital camera?

Depends on what you're going to be doing with the camera. I sell cameras. My personal favorites are canon and nikons. They're both great cameras. Canon's have face detection if you're going to be using it for mostly picture of people. I own two nikons and they're great for taking pictures of fast moving things, like racing or sports. And they both work good in basically any lighting.
