  1. hdmi has digital signal , so name brand dont matter

  2. if you are using it for less than 15 feet it does not really matter which brand.. for longer runs it would require a thicker cable. inspire sell a decent one check them out

    inspire hdmi cable

  3. Well, the signals are ones and zeros. Unlike analog signals, you dont need highly exotic cables to get perfect transmission.

The only real issue between cheap vs name-brand cables is:

    - doing runs over 15 feet

    - putting the cable in the wall

If I wanted a really good cable, I'd probably go with Monster. The retail prices are higher, and while I am annoyed by their 'junk-science' marketing, their products are good.

    My advice:

    - Order a decent Belden based cable from www.bluejeanscables.com for about $40.  Bring it home and try it out.

    - On a weekend, find a store that sells Monster and has zero restocking fees and buy one of their "fast" cables for $120.  Come home and watch something for 30 minutes on the BlueJeans cable, then switch to the Monster cable.  If it looks better - return the other one.

  4. HDMI is digital either you get audio and video or you don't.
