  1. There's not a huge amount of difference actually. A truck fills with fuel and then pumps it into the tanks at various gas stations (with various oil company signs hanging outside). I use Premium, no matter what brand of gas I use and haven't had issues regarding fuel.

  2. Stick to the ones with the better additives. Chevron has Techron which is great, h**l they sell bottles of techron at parts stores. Shell is very good too. Texaco has techron as well. It keeps your engine's innerds clean and eliminates problems down the line

  3. Go for lowest price and lowest octane. You are talking about an engine that could care less what's coming down the pipe. (next to diesel)

  4. In today's competitive world each company tries to outdo the other.  There is no question of having anything inferior which could be avoided.  The products are basically similar except for the brand of additives used.  The Public Relations exercise is so vivid that it creates divisions in our mind, as to which is good and which is better.  The bigger the corporation, the better it is, productwise and costwise.  Take your pick.

  5. seriously, you can't go wrong with Shell

  6. I'll avoid any generic named gas stations unless it's an emergency.

The best ones are probably the gas stations that are the busiest and always get new and fresh supplies of gasoline.

I used all major brands of gas and experienced zero problems.  I do stick to a minimum of 89 octane and often use 91 octane.

I most often go to the Shell station near my home 75% of the time or I'll go to Chevron also nearby because of the convenience and their prices aren't higher than anyone else around by me.

  7. Years ago I had a car and a bike that both hated Exxon.

Would barely run on the stuff. I always run premium. My bikes call for it, and my cars were tuned for it. Today, who knows? No Exxon stations near me. I usually get gas at Cumberland Farms (owned by Gulf). I don't know what they sell, it's delivered in the middle of the night by a truck with an Indian name on it. American Indian, not Indian Indian. The fallback is Irving. Delivered in their own tankers.

  8. i prefer gasoline with 95+ octane rating. that's what i use in my motorcycle. Although it may cost a little more than any regular one, performance wise will be its advantage. It will also improve your driving since higher octane rating gasoline like the one i prefer is easily combusted and gives your engine the power it needs.

  9. A knowledgeable fellow who has no connection with the company told me that the Techron additive used in Chevron gas is  the most effective.  He suggests to "run a tankful through, now and then".

I buy Valero- (American owned),  and Chevron or Texaco because the filling stations are owned by locals and if I'm going to get screwed I'd rather it be by someone I know.

  10. I like ARCO-it really doesn't matter as it all comes in the same pipelines and additives per brand are added later.

  11. Anything BUT Texaco.

  12. I will say what I have EXPERIENCED! I used some no name cheapo gas. Sheetz to be exact. It burned up quicker than BP.

I had heard their gas was watered down but I never believed it because something like that should be illegal.

I have no gas gauge so I have to pay attention to my miles. I filled up on BP93 and ran it almost dry. Filled up on sheetz93 and got about 35 miles less out of it. Same riding on both tanks.

So my advice is to stick with name brand premium. BP / Amaco is my recommendation.
