What is the best brand of laptop computors?

I am not a fan of mac. we have a gateway right now and it has never given us problems but it is old and we want a new one. so should we get another gateway or is there a better brand out there?

i would say an apple laptop, because they have a special operation system, and there aren't as many viruses for that system.

most viruses are made for Windows.

i personally like vaios, i have one and it works great.

its the only kind of laptops i have had, and they all are great.

I'll second the recommendation of the HP.

As a general rule, the business class machines, while slightly more expensive are of higher quality.

Pay for the three year warranty - their warranty service is real good and with such an investment it's a smart move.

Most laptops (PC) are the same, the only difference being price and customer support. Decide what you want for a machine (processor, ram, hard drive and screen quality) then look for the best price. Are yo aware in the US, we do not have a factory to build LCD screens. I had seen this great pic of a Chinese assembly line where they were actually placing name badges on screens BENQ monitors were being labeled as Dell.

i would definitely say HP, its not near as expensive as a mac, its really simple and not at all low in quality. i use mine a lot and i never have any problems with it. its got everything you need, its just like a normal computer in this generation. trust me its the best

On the off chance something goes wrong dell/sony are the only to I know of that'll come to you house to fix it (instead of sending you machine off).

There are other brands like Sony, HP, Dell etc. So you can look into those as well.

Hewlett Packard hands down.  But then you'd have to get a Vista OS which blows bullets.  Sorry Apple but you're priced way out of the market.
