  1. any current high priced model.

laptops can be used for gaming, but gamers use small tower or game box. most laptops don't have enough heat dissipation for hard core gamers, let alone the ability to trade up to the newest graphic cards.

hdtv tuners, top of the line games, and video editing trans-coding to dvd will task most computers, the faster the better, and max memory. laptops are portable, but u can carry a small tower, flat panel monitor to your net lan party. if you go laptop. video processing will heat laptops up fast, make sure you have under laptop cooling platform, and an ice cold room.

  2. alienware

  3. an HP laptop with either intel or amd processor is just fine. for games i would recommend u to choose a model having nvidia go geforce 256 mb along with 1gb ram. hardisk can be 160 to 220 gb, vista for a good feel when u browse through ur photos...i would suggest hp6291 which is in hp dv pavillion 6000 series ..fullfills ur requirements at a reasonable cost.

  4. Check out the Gateway P-7811FX Notebook.

Has a fast Centrino Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB fast ram and a beautiful display with an awesome graphics card.

For the money (around $1500), I think it would be tough to beat. Technically this laptop excels at gaming more than any other purpose, but I find it runs great doing anything so far.

The one sticking point for you might be that it only has a 200GB hard drive (though it is a fast 7200 rpm) - this for me is just fine since I like the faster, smaller internal and use external drives for long term storage on photos and such.

It comes with Windows Vista  64-bit version, which I like but this may be a consideration for you.

    I'm extremely happy with mine.

Best Buy carries this model, and you can get a good deal on Office Home/Student version at the same time, if that is something you are interested in.

You might also check out the HP high end laptops... they tend to have a slower processor but would probably have been my second choice due to all around quality.

  5. Try Alienware.
