I am totally confused, Bare Minerals, Raw Minerals,....or others. I have read that minerals are better for the skin than regular powder. Which brand of powder type minerals will cover, but not settle into my wrinkles, making me look even older? Also, do you use a blush over a mineral make-up? Is it supposed to be a mineral blush? I haven't changed make-up in years and so I am new to all the current innovations. I usually don't wear much make-up at all, but sometimes want to look a little nicer. Thanks for the advice.

  1. Bare Escentuals is a great brand. It is a healthy alternative to the usual heavy makeup most wear. The ingredients are all natural minerals which will not clog pores. Their foundation (Bare Minerals) is superior to any other and a little goes a long way. The brand might seem a little pricey at first glance, but it really lasts a long time and once you try it, you will never go back to regular foundation. All you do is put a little in the lid of the jar, swirl the brush around in the lid, tap off excess and apply in a circular motion around your face. It literally feels like you are not wearing makeup, however, it gives GREAT coverage and lasts all day. It makes your face look almost flawless but compared with the liquid foundations and the old powder types, you feel like you're wearing nothing. It's really strange but true! They have a fantastic selection of colors to choose from. The following link will take you to Bare Escentuals foundation page where you can see all their shades. http://store.bareescentuals.com/bareMine... After looking at their shade colors, click on the shade selector button and view 15 diverse women to see if one of them is close to your tone. I think this will be very helpful as there is a description of the tone next to each face and the shade that goes along with it. Also, just so you know, their concealer is fabulous and easy to apply. I totally recommend the bisque multi tasking minerals which is really a fantastic concealer along with the foundation, at least to start. Great coverage. You can purchase it on line at http://qvc.com/cgen/render.aspx?qp=class... or http://www.bareescentuals.com/. Either way, they have starter kits to purchase which makes it more afordable, and gives you everything necessary including the brushes. There are bare minerals blushes, but I don't currently use them. Instead, I use bare minerals warm radiance which is an all over splash of wonderful color. I apply it right over my foundation and tinted mineral veil. They have a great selection of products but I would just get the basics to start. Just so you know, I am 45 years old and not one to wear a ton of make-up, but there is a certain regiment I follow before leaving the house. It is unbelievably easy and quick once you get the hang of it but it gives great coverage and does not settle into wrinkles especially when applied the right way. I know I said it earlier, but a little product goes a long way. You can view a "how to apply" video at the following link which will be good for you and extemely helpful. Watch it and see. If it seems to good to be true, it is not. Trust me...it is wonderful! The link to see the video is:

Hope this was helpful! Good luck and God bless!

  2. everyday minerals have the best quality face powder/foundation. They also give you lots of options for what kind of coverage and texture you want.

a great mineral product to "diffuse" wrinkles is Anti-Shine from cuberry (i think?) it matte's out any inconsistencies in your skin texture. also good for younger folk with shiny skin. I personally use this every day because when I don't feel like wearing makeup i blend this into my skin, and it brightens up the skin and makes it smoother. it's color-less however, so if you want coverage, you would add everyday minerals or bareminerals first.

yes you can use a blush. mineral blushes are good because you can blend them in very well, so they look extremely natural. I recommend a kabuki brush. Don't waste *too* much money on brushes - some of them are harshly overpriced.

I think right now sephora is having a free BareMinerals giveaway with any purchase. the coupon code is "MYSHADE" I hope it still works. The best thing is to try as many samples from all the different companies and see what's right for you.

  3. I have been applying professional make-up for over a decade and have used many different lines. Mineral make-up is by far the best option for your skin and provides the finest finish due to the minerals themselves being similar to thin sheets of paper. This results is a beautiful glowing complexion. These thin sheets also reduce a great deal of the settling that can occur in creases and wrinkles in the skin. Glo Minerals is my personal favorite. Both natural and dramatic looks can be created with this highly pigmented line. It feels light, wears beautifully, and is good for your skin. http://www.glominerals.com/

  4. I've heard good things about Bare Minerals brand.  The brand I use I like but have found to get good coverage you must have a good brush to apply.  Minerals are better for your skin and actually benefit your skin.  Mine doesn't settle in my wrinkles.:)  I use mineral cheek color also since it benefits the skin.

I'm like you, I don't wear a lot of makeup, but feel better with a bit on and I look "alive.":)

I've included the website for info on the brand I use.  And don't forget it is important to have a good skin care sytem - at least cleanser and moisturizer and eye cream.  They say your face is your canvas and you want a nice clean and moisturizer canvas.:):)  The color you apply will look so much better.

  5. I love the Bare Minerals.  They have staying power and don't get shiny on the face.  I don't have trouble with it settling but I don't use blushes.  Bare Minerals has a bronzer and several blushes.  I would stick with a mineral blush as well.

Drop in on a makeup counter in your nearest store with one.  Even if you don't buy their makeup, you will still learn of the newest makeups and how to apply.

  6. try soap and water

a lot of the stuff on the market has no scientic evidence that any of the minerals they advertise wok
