What is the best brand of paint?

I'm getting ready to paint the outside of my house. I need to know what the best brand of paint there is to use for priming and for painting the house. If it matters, I live in the South Carolina, so I have some humidity and heat here.

Just to let you know, I haven't had good luck with Lowes or Home Depot brand paints.

Dutch Boy is a really good brand of paint to use for your house, I have also used Valspar from Lowe's.

The best thing to do is check with your library for the most recent issue of 'Consumer Reports' magazine with tests of house paints.  You're right to be concerned about the area of the country, since paints are formulated differently geographically, but CR has also often found differences in performance between different COLORS within the same brand/line of paint (that's why people can have such varied experiences with supposedly the same paint). It's worth checking out how different brands did in the colors you're thinking of using.

If you want premium paint for that type of situatuion get Olympic paint sold at Lowes.
