i dont really think there is a best brand of running shoes.... because depending on your feet you need different things.... support, and such.... go to a local running store and im sure they can give you some advice to weather you pronate or anything.... i personally wear sacony bc i need good arch support but some other popular brands are addidas,brooks, acis, new balance

I am in the sporting goods business. I am a manufacturers rep. but I am not a shoe salesman.  I feel that Newbalance, Brooks and Sacouny are probably  the best to purchase.  You will need to find a running specialty store in you area.  The major chains do not carry the top shoes.  The brand with the swosh on it is probably not even close to having anything near the top.  They are just a big marketing company that pays pro athletes a lot of $$ to endorse their shoes.  Some of the big time athletes will wear the brand with the swoosh and have it made by another company that knows what they are doing.  I hope some of this info helps you find the best shoe for your activity.  You will really have to find a running specialy store to get the top shoe for yourself.

it really depends on the structure of your foot. I like nike because i have a narrow foot my friend like new balance because their feet are wider. I like Nike because they are super comfty and lightweight

What's comfortable to one person might be different for another, though i have worn many different types of shoes. I have heard though that New Balances are great for running.
