  1. The best wax to use is not actually wax at all! I like to use Zardoz Notwax which is the worlds slipperiest base lubricant. Its easier to apply, as its an inert (it cant dry up or evaporate) liquid. You just rub it on with the felt pad and go shred. It specifically for skis and snowboards. Id definitely recommend this over wax!

    Zardoz Notwax!

  2. There are lots of good waxes out there.  For most recreational riders, any snowboard base wax is OK.  I prefer KUU waxes: they have a full line from inexpensive all-temp wax to high end race formula.  Check it: http://www.kuu.com

They also provide a free tuning guide.  it covers a lot that you don't have to worry about, but akes good reading if your are interested: http://www.kuu.com/tuningmanual2.pdf
