  1. Quarter horses are generally agreeable horses, or possibly an Appendix. But really, it's not so much about the breed as the horse's experience and temperament. Find yourself a horse that you get along with and that will be good for what you want to use it for. Don't worry about what breed it is.

  2. I agree with Amy S. QH's are typically good ones, so are appaloosa's if you want to take a western approach. For english style breeds, I would look for a warmblood. But mostly, it depends on the horses training, temperment and also what discipline your riding and what you want to compete in.

  3. Thoroughbreds are good horses for riding. They are really fast and have a lot of stamina. They have big eyes and horses with big eyes are good tempered. If the breed has small eyes like an Arabian there bad tempered which isn't good for riding. Pintos are also another good choice for a horse or a Quarter horse. You want to try to get a nice breed that's nice but, you never know when a horse can get mad. If their ears are laid back stay away from them because they dintt want to be ridden. It's also telling you that It will kick or buck you or another animal. So yeah stick with those breeds I told you. Hope everything goes well. Also, go to the link below it will tell you about the horses I choosed for you.

  4. tb is a good breed i use mine for jumping and they are also fast movers! they would work good for barrel racing and here is a pointer if you buy an ex race horse and its use to jumping dont use it for barrel racing cause i have learned from experance! and i was a barrel racer for a year and i use a tb that was polo horse and u could do anything with! and also if you wanna do barrel racing use a fast qh usally a horse that has alot of experance in it like a nbha horse i have 1 and they are pretty nice and dont get a mare they have their days and also dont get a horse that is free cause it might be lame or something.i have also learned that from experance! if you want a good horse that is and dead broke in something you will pay good money! so like i said...

tb are for jumping or english...

qh are good for barrel racing or western!

    well i hope that helps:)

  5. Any breed will do, there isnt really a certain breed that would be good, its more the nature of the individual horse. I had a dutch warmblood when I was at your stage, as well as a thoroughbred....though I seem to like warmbloods better since they are usually more "bulky" than other breeds, and they are not as hot as other breeds (they are pretty laid back)...but warmbloods tend to be pricey.

Basically its all up to you and your comfort level, you should try some different breeds of horses until you find the right fit (thats the best way!). Its almost impossible to choose a horse on breed alone since every horse has a different personality!

I hope this helps and good luck!
