I am looking for accommodation in Stoke on Trent at the budget end of the scale for the first weekend of August.

So far I have come up with a few options. Two of these are: "The Plough Motel" and "The Innkeepers Lodge". Does anyone have an opinion on these options or have you stayed here before? If you did, what did you think? If not where else would you recommend to stay? Also any tips for activities to do in the area or availing of deals for Alton Towers tickets.

Cheers for any help that you can give.

  1. try the star hotel, which is based in hanley, stoke on trent, its £24 single room,£26 if you want breakfast., £38 for double room,£42 with breakfast.per room per night, tel 01782 207507, 25min drive to alton towers, my visiting family have  stayed there many times and its a very warm and friendly atmosphere,in the town centre close to all amenities. 5 min drive to waterworld(a great swimming pool with many waterslides etc),and ten pin bowling, and shops and many pubs a couple of minuts walk away,
