  1. However, I don't know the exact answer to this, but at your local stores on the back of the calling card package are the rates, check and compare each one before buying.  At Wal-Mart they have the prepaid calling phones, check out those rates as well. Ask someone there for help.  I work at one, and we have a cell phone kiosk right there to ask for help. Sorry its not much help.  Call your local telephone company and see if there are any special rates, and let them know its just for a short time.  They may also be able to give you some advice.  Good Luck.    Oh, you might want to ask your phone company when the best times are to call that will be cheaper for you.

  2. You can roll your own calling card using VoIP carriers like CallCentric or InPhonex.

    Learn how at:  http://www.cqvoip.com

CallCentric rate to China is 1.6¢/min - InPhonex rate to China is 2.0¢/min when you dial from local calling card gateways.

If there are no local gateway numbers, you can create your own.

  3. Sprint is good. And you can buy a card at Safeway. I call my GF in Japan for 6 cents a minute.

  4. I call China often, and I use www.onesuite.com.  It's an online calling card that can be recharged online and allows you to call anywhere in the world.  You can call China for 3.2 cents a minute, or for 2.2 cents a minute if you are able to use a local access number.  It's by far the best I've found, and I've done a lot of looking.

  5. the card is called local access, you can buy it from www.168talk.com. you pay $18 for 1500 mins
