What is the best camera out there?

i am just starting to get into cameras a lot and i would like anyone and everyone advice on the best camera that they have ever used or know of. ive been searching a little bit on the web and found a couple but I'm not sure, any input on a good camera someone has used and loved before is greatly appreciated!!

the nikon d3 and the d300 are the bad boys out there right now

The all time winner bargain compact digital camera is the Canon 7.1 megapixel PowerShot SD1000 [not the IS] 7.1 with an added 2- gig memory card which when set in the manual mode for "Vivid" colors and videos at 30 fps in 320 dpi format provides killer images and videos.
