Any input would be great; I'm 6'4 so legroom is good but gas mileage as well. I'm not married but don't want to put myself in complete debt.

  1. nissan altima

  2. Honda Accord.

  3. I'd buy a 1 year old of any of the following:

    Honda Accord

    Honda Civic

    Honda CRV

    Toyota Camry

    Toyota Avalon

    Toyota Highlander

    VW Passat

  4. If your credit is in decent shape then a car around $15k should be in your budget. The going interest rates are around 4.5 to 5.5 %. Some of the manufacturers like Suzuki even have Zero APR as well.

What you need to do is to determine monthly payment amount. With that in hand, try a local credit union. Get your finance established and then go hunt for the car. Here's few choices for you to look at.

    Toyota Yaris

    Honda Civic or Fit

    Hyundai Accent

Pontiac Vibe - Listing only because its possible to get it for less than $14K

    Good Luck.

  5. For legroom get something like a truck.  I believe the Ford F-150 XL with a 4.2L V6 and two wheel drive gets 20 mpg highway. If you plan on getting married in the future it would be good to get a supercab. Also MSRP on a new F-150 is $17,700.
