  1. anymore most of them are good and it would be hard to say which one is best, you will get 100 differen't answers as each to their own preference, I prefer MeGuires tech wax.

  2. This depends on whether it is for you to use, or if you just want to know which is "the best"

for you, and for normal usage, try autoglym, mer, or meguires..

the best.. debatable, but Zymol Royale is regarded as the best there is, and probably ever will be.. it has a very high pure carnauba content, and costs many thousands of pounds to buy a small glass tub...... but they will refill it free of charge for life.. !!

  3. Any polish with carnauba wax (from a Brazilian tree leaf) in it - Mequiars is an upmarket make. Zymol is another.  These do work - rain droplets form and roll off for about six months after you've polished the car

However, it is said that it depends on the make of car and the type of paint applied.  Some makes polish up better with synthetic waxes like Autoglym.

Polishes and polishing cars is a whole, sad subject which if you search around the web, you will find plenty of discussion forums all about.

Unless you have a Ferrari or Porsche, maybe just pop into Halfords and buy whatever takes your fancy - but spend no more than about GBP8.

  4. mothers

  5. On the subject of carnauba wax, Aldi have it as a wash and wax - 5 ltr for £5.

Other than that Demon Shine from Asda. Lets face it, it washes off after a week, so any cheap rubbish would do.

  6. Taz, I've used the Mothers 3 step wax system for several years and the final wax and polish is done with Pure Mothers Carnuba Paste Car Wax. I only wish you could actually see the water bead after one year on an 04 Toyota Camry that is not garaged.

  7. You could spend thousands on detailing your car with super wax etc, but if you're after good results, here's my method:

Use one bucket of clean water to rinse sponge (cleaning mitts are best), One bucket of shampoo water for the washing.  This helps eliminate cross contamination, dirtying up your clean soapy water.

Once washed, rinse well using a hose, then leather.

Now you're ready to clay your car.  Clay bars are brilliant for removing stubborn contaminants such as tar and sap, your metal should feel smooth like glass after a good claying.

Now the car is ready for a waxing.  I find Meguiars Next Gen wax perfect for my car, lasts for a long time and produces fantastic results.  Gives good beading and loads of shine, particualarly on metalic paint.  It's cheap too so won't break the bank :)  Here's a link for you, although you can buy it most places.  http://www.shopwiki.co.uk/detail/d=Megui...

  8. Carnauba Wax. That's been around for so many years and if you are lucky to find some, you will give your car the gleam of a lifetime. Only thing you need with it is a lot of elbow grease.

But it will last by far longer than any modern rubbish like Autoglym and so on.

  9. Autoglym

  10. Autoglym Radiant Wax Polish.

I've been in the motor trade over 20 years and tried numerous polishes but this one is by far the best.
