  1. The best way of determining the best odds for the player is to look at the house advantage. The lower the better.

    Craps (double odds) 0.60%

    Blackjack 0.80%

    Baccarat (banker) 1.17%

    Baccarat (player) 1.63%

    Pai Gow Poker 2.5%

    Roulette (single zero) 2.7%

    Three-Card Poker 3.4%

    Let It Ride 3.5%

    Sportsbook Betting 4.5%

    Caribbean Stud Poker 5.26%

    Roulette (double zero) 5.6%

    Big 6 Wheel 11.1% to 24%

    Keno 25%

Therefore making Craps and Blackjack the best casino game!

  2. The blackjack game Sandy is talking about is non-existent in Las Vegas. Nowhere, and I mean NOWHERE stands on soft 17. The typical Strip game is 6 deck, hit on soft 17, which is a .6% house edge with perfect basic strategy (Also, keep in mind that 99% of people do NOT play perfect basic strategy, including most who think they are). Double deck games are around that are slightly better (hit soft 17, no double after split) that will give a house edge of about .5%.

The typical strip casino has 3x4x5x odds on craps, which gives a house edge of .37% on the pass and don't pass line with max odds. A craps table with 10X odds (which is not difficult to find) has a house edge of .18%. There are a few 20x tables around town, which gives a house edge of .099%. And the best bet in town at Casino Royale with it's 100x odds table, which has a house edge of .021%.

And the absolute best bet in the casino is the "Optimum Play" video poker machines. They are absolutely still in casinos, and are not hard to find (and are often even empty for some reason). They actually have a return of 100.7% with perfect play, meaning the PLAYER has the advantage. Most people still lose though, since you need a gigantic bankroll and must play hundreds of thousands of hands to assure you see that edge, but it is there and you can win. You must also play perfect strategy, which most people do not do.

  3. For a while Bob Stupak offered something he called "Polish roulette" at Vegas World (closed years ago).  It was roulette with no zeros.  The odds were even, no house advantage.

There is an Indian casino that was offering a new game that actually offered a player's advantage (the casino management did not understand) , but only 6 of us are aware of the analysis that showed the result.  It was surprisingly difficult to calculate.

Faro will often have moments when some bets are to the player's advantage.

If you find an unconventional game, do your analysis.  You may find that there is a "gap" that gives a player's advantage for someone who can do the statistical analysis.

Among the common games, craps offers the best average, but the variance is high so you may have wildly unpredictable results.  If you are looking for longer play-time with your bankroll, baccarat has lower variance and a pretty good average.   The actual calculated values were posted in another response.

  4. this question gets asked quite often, and I think the asker has a different idea than what the answers usually assume. I think what you want is what bet has the highest frequency of wins, or odds of winning. what most people assume is that you are asking about the best betting odds, so you always get lists of house edges. however, imho, it doesn't matter if you can get a .00001 house edge if you lose 9 out of 10 hands.

imho, the only guaranteed bet of consistent success is red/black on roulette. the odds are 18 out of 38, or just under 50/50.

  5. While i agree with the other number posted above for other games, i dissagree with the posted edge of -0.8% for blackjack,  Blackjack games come with varriing sets of rules, and varriing house advantages based on how efficiently people play.  single deck  6:5 blackjack games have a house advantage of around -1.5%, however you do not have to play those blackjack games as the more standard game desacribed below is readily available.

The house edge on 8 deck dealer stands on soft 17 double after split allowed, blackjack pays 3:2 split 3X to 4 hands is -0.42% when played with perfect playing strategy.  This is the norm for most casinos.

  6. Craps,

  7. There used to be video slots where you could get a positive edge if you played perfect strategy but obviously these were short lived.... the video slots around now have had their payouts adjusted. anyways here are the 5 top casino bets

    5) The "Pass Line" Bet on Craps: House Edge 1.41%

    4) "Bank Bet" on Baccarat: House Edge 1.15%

    3) "Basic Strategy" on Blackjack: House Edge 0 - 0.5%

    2) Maximum Free Odds on Craps: House Edge 0.021% - 0.848% (Depending on house rules)

    1) Zero Roulette at Betfair: House Edge 0%

Zero Roulette is basically roulette without the zero, effectively killing the house edge. Betfair is the only place I know that offers it. Its not available from all countries but you should have a look at it if your a long term player.
