What is the best cat litter?

We've used Tidy Cats & some store brand that Sams sells. I'm looking for one that will mask the urine odor, because we all know how bad that smells, as well as clump it. Please help

There is no masking cat urine odor! Sorry! Cats hate litter with scent, so you will either have to be diligent in cleaning the box (es) frequently or do what I am doing - toilet train your cat!!  By the way, get one box for each cat. Here are instructions on how to toilet train your cat:

By the way, until this time, I used Kitten Attract litter. There is also Cat Attract Litter

I've got a cat and I've tried so many litters.   Finally heard about a product called FRIDGE IT odor absorbers.   It is a purple activated carbon filter that is really good for eliminating odors from litter box.  I have two hanging from mine and literally, no more odor.  I highly recommend it.  You can get it at www.innofresh.com

I use feline pine and absolutely love it!!  If you follow the instructions on the bag it works great and most cats will adjust to it just fine.  I haven't tried the clumping formula yet but either one is worth a try.  I've left a link to the site (below) if you want to read about it.  My favorite things about it is the lack of dust and urine odor.  You do need to purchase a special scooper with wide slots though cuz the pellets are bigger than normal clay litter.  If you can't find one that works for it, they sell feline pine scoopers  that work pretty good.

I would 2nd the feline pine vote both in the pellets and clumping, its a great cat litter as are swheat scoop and world's best cat litter. These should be available at any good pet supply store. I would caution against the use of any clay litter as they have been implicated in causing intestinal blockages and other problems.

Toilet training is great if you can get your kitty to accept it, I've heard great reviews about the Litter Kwitter system to help your kitty get there but havent been able to try it for mine yet.

I have had cats all my life and have tried a variety of litter brands.  I really think Fresh Step is the best.  I only have one cat now, but I have never had a problem with odor since using Fresh Step.
