What is the best/cheapest mode of transportation one can take from Madrid, Spain to Manchester, England?

I live in Tenerife and go to manchester every 6 months. These are the companies we always check out for cheap flights. I normally use monarch. But the others are also quite good.

Make use of the Internet: companies' next big war on marketing.  The Internet is a great tool for comparing prices.  Some of the airliners providing special rates include, but not limited to jet2.com, iberia, flymonarch, and so on.  Most importantly, if you're really hunting for a great rate -be flexible about the date and the time of your departure.  You may also consider standing by on the day of the flight to snatch up last minute cancellations.  Good luck!

Fly direct from Madrid to Manchester.  There's that much competition on that route that airlines have cut prices right back.  You might be able to get a special promotion for as little as about $40 / €30 / £20, even if you can't get a special promo it shouldn't cost more than $100 / €75 / £50.

At the moment prices are higher because it's the school holidays in Spain and England but you can still get flights for $150 return.
