3. ASUS F8S - T5750 is the best option here. Discete graphics is always a plus, but you might want to read some reviews anyway. All of these systems are comparable.

The Dells are great! If you travel a lot I would get number 5 because it's smaller and weighs less. If you don't travel a lot and don't mind spending a little more, go with number 6. A bigger screen is better for watching videos if you do that a lot. The Intel Core 2 Duo is one of the fastest internet speeds so that's good. And the webcam is a big plus.

Dell 1525.

We use the Dell 1500 series laptops for our sales guys who sell wood preservatives and travel in trucks over really remote areas.  The Dell 1500 series last better.

IBM is notable for their rugged laptops as well.

Compaq and Acer a well known for cheap plastic.
