I've occasionally smoked cigars for several years, but want to become a regular smoker of them. Where should I start?

Do not reply with health risks. I know them.

  1. i always say smoke what you like....but I can not get on board with the flavored thing.  Like flavored coffee the tobacco is usually less than good and the flavor is all about the additives.

I recommend anything rolled by Don Pepin Garcia.  Tatuajes, Padillas, or many of his brand names.  they are smooth and have great character.  Oh try not to fall into the "churchill" only crowd.  As a new smoker buy smaller sizes tht will allow you ta appreciate the changes a cigar will give you as you smoke it....

Yeah, s***w the health hazards, Stress will kill you just as quickly if not more.

  2. Romeo de Juliet

reserves baby!  add a cab frank to the mix.  your golden.

  3. Al capones they dip them in conac or rum not expensive ethier

  4. My favorite are cherry ciggies (Derringer cherry 100's little cigars) about 11-12 bucks a carton.-they don't stink as bad or at all.-It saves money when it comes to cigarettes.

  5. Mild cigars are recommended for beginners, since the more full-flavored cigars would most likely taste too strong (or just plain bad) to a new smoker. Mild cigars are also the least expensive, so you won't have to worry about ruining an expensive cigar by lighting it incorrectly, or by cutting too much off the closed end.

Cohiba, Macanudo...Cubans are the best but also not available legally in the US.  Domincan cigars are the next best.

    A good place to start:

  6. I don't know where the poster that stated that mild cigars are inexpensive got his information from, but price does not dictate anything about a smoke.  Butera Royal Vintage, Ashton, Por Larranaga (DR version) are all mild smokes and they cost as much as other fuller bodied, premiums.

The best thing to do is to visit a cigar shop, talk to the tobacconist and try a few singles.  Once you know what you like, you can return to the shop and get more recommendations based on what you liked.

  7. I like Acid Blondies. Victor Sinclair Amarettos are really good too.
