What is the best city in Australia to look for work as a general plumber?

I am planning to emigrate to Australia in the next 18 months, I need to go through the migration process to see if I'm eligible for a visa. I am a plumber based in the UK, I want to find the best place for work. I have researched a little on which city is best, it seems it's just down to personal preference, I just need to find out where the work is. I am going to an expo in London in April to get more information. Any info from UK plumbers that have taken the bold move would be great. Any info from Australian plumbers would also be most appreciated.

Well, any city, because we really need skilled workers here! It just depends on where you want to live. The exchange rate for coming to Australia at the moment for you is certainly not at its best at the moment though!

Good decision go to Australia the UK has no future for any one, if you have the opportunity go for it. Its a lovely country having lived there 26yrs, you should have no problem being a plumber, Sydney id say is you're best shot but Adelaide is also wanting skilled workers Its also very nice. good luck

If you want to earn a lot of money, then the best opportunity right now in Australia is in Kalgoorlie.

Kalgoorlie is a mining town in Western Australia. There's not a great deal to do there (desert!), but that's where Australian tradesmen are going if they want to earn fast money.

The mining industry is Booming in Australia, and there is a huge shortage in workmen/tradesmen.

If you're looking for something a bit more welcoming, then don't go to Kalgoorlie. But if you're wanting to earn quickly, then this is the place to go.

Any city in Australia is good for plumbers. Before you set your heart on any one place, find out which visa you are eligible for, as some visas have restrictions on which regions you can work in.

Each state and territory has a business development section. One of their functions is to market themselves to prospective applicants. The different state and territories are aggressively competitive when trying to attract skilled and in demand trades like plumbing. They will throw all sorts of things your way if you give them a chance, like assistance finding work, assistance finding accommodation,.
