I am planning on moving to Ontario in a year or two and am wondering what would be the best place for us to move. It will be myself, my husband and our three kids. We want to take into account the economy, schools, cost of living, job availibility and residential areas and anything else that might fit inbetween those things that I have not thought of. I know my husband would not enjoy living in a large city so Toronto is a no go, but anything else could qualify. I want to make an informed decision before we choose! Thanks all!

  1. Oh I like Stratford, Ontario a lot, it's almost as British-looking as Stratford-upon-Avon in England.  And the shops are delightful there!

  2. Barrie is a progressive city.  Very young with lots for the little ones.  It is close to beaches and ski hills, as well as a lot of community programs for families.  About an hour north of Toronto.

  3. Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo area is great for Families.  I think it was voted #1 for Ontario.

  4. Kingston, Ontario was voted one of the top 5 nicest places to live in all of Ontario, nice place to raise a family, alot of growing sub-divisions, add to the fact it's in close proximity to every major city in this part of Eastern Canada, 3 hours from Toronto, 3 hours from Montreal, 2 hours from Ottawa.

  5. It really would all depend on what your field of expertise is, your children's ages, your financial situation...........I cannot make any recommendations which will factor in economy, schools, cost of living in such just knowing you are a family of five........
