What is the best coffee shop in amsterdam?

I personally like the Bulldog cafes, but in all fairness that are all really cool with their own little personalities. The Grasshopper is also wicked.

Have fun. I am going in August :)

Remember they have banned tobacco smoking in the coffee shops so it's gonna have to be straight up blunts :D

Not from personal expirience - but a colleague told me (he used to live in Amsterdam) that the Bulldog and the Grashopper are too touristy - and too expensive.

He recommends the ' Rokerij '  - and in addition to their botanical specialties - they actually do have very good coffee :)

the grasshopper,, just off main strip, next to the canel, before the red light district,, big cafe/pub, good music/people,
