california irvine won the mens title as far as woman i can't rember who won but it is prob a west coast team

If I'm just going by my opinion, I'd have to say BYU.  Three NCAA championships (1999, 2001, 2004) in the past 8 years is quite an accomplishment.  I'm talking men's volleyball of course.

Other good programs are Long Beach State, UCLA, UC-Irvine, Pepperdine, and Hawaii--all of them in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.

For women's volleyball, there are a lot more teams, so dominant teams are harder to come by.  The Pac 10 and Big XII are strong conferences for women's volleyball.

For women it will be Nebraska and Stanford at the top next season. Nebraska is the returning champs and they only lost two seniors and are bringing in a lot of new talent. Stanford was also in the championship match and are bringing in Alix Klineman, one of the most highly-touted recruits in recent memory.
