What is the best combination of aftermarket parts for th Ruger 10-22 in regards to target shooting?

  You can do anything you want with the 10/22, I made mine into a replica German MG-34, looks cool shoots Semi-auto, and 100% accurate With the Ruger get a good trigger The Factory is Not Very Good, a Timmny Trigger is much better, the rest is gravy, a good seating with epoxy will only help if properly done, only most Gunsmiths are too busy to do it, so maybe look it up and do it your self, it's not very hard. I was a Gunsmith for 8 years.

If you want a serious target rifle based on the Ruger 10/22 platform then start with the Ruger 10/22T.... This model has the heavy barrel from the factory.....

Start out with the better grade of rifle first....

Of course your going to get differing opinions... My opinion is keep it simple... Get the better 10/22T.  Top it off with a quality scope.... And maybe a little trigger work..... Get a nice case with a decent bench rest and your all set.....

It is possible to change almost everything on the rifle in the quest for accuracy.  One can easily change the barrel, the stock and the sights.  If one is a bit more mechanical, they can change the trigger to a match trigger, too.  At this point, you will have changed everything except the action.  I would imagine a search of after market parts manufacturers would turn up someone who is making a replacement action.  If such a person exists, it leaves one wondering why not jut buy all of the aftermarket parts to begin with and just build your own gun from the ground up and not bother buying a basic 10/22 in the first place.
