I am a big Glock fan I really like the 30 45acp but it is too big.Some times I carry my fathers Glock 26 9mm and it is perfect,but it does not pack the 45acp punch.

It all depends on what you want it for. If you want one for self defense then I suggest a .38 USP Compact, not powerful enough to kill unless you aim for a vital area...but powerful enough to stop anyone. If you just want one for plinking or just to have for anything, I suggest a Jennings J-22. It's a .22 cal. pistol that is just handy to have. It is lacking in accuracy to a degree but I just have always prfered it to other compact .22's.

Kel-Tec PF-9

It's a single stack 9mm thats just a little bit bigger than most .380s but still small enough to fit in a pocket holster. I have over 1200 rounds through mine and i've yet to have a jam.

Kel-Tec also has awesome customer service and will bend over backwards to make you happy. It's the only gun manufacturer i've ever dealt with that will send spare parts directly to you on request. Most will make you wait till something breaks then have you send it in and go without your gun for a month.

The Beretta PX4 Storm Sub compact looks like a good one. I haven't shot one yet but I'm thinking about getting one as a carry gun. I own a Beretta 92FS and it is a great gun and I know the PX4 Storm is a great gun too, and I have heard great things about the compact version.

A Glock.    they are safe, compact and the .45GAP can make a good punch

Get the Glock 39 if you want punch

Or the Glock 26 if you want it " tactical"

But keep in mind, revolvers are more reliable
