  1. The best place in my opinion to get gas, is Quiktrip. I have never had a problem with them. I bought gas from Exxon and BP one time and thats all it took!

I swear to you, I had a little over a half-tank it was almost gone within 2 days! Its like it was eating gas sitting in my driveway! There was just no way my gas was used like that. I drove it about 6 times, all within 7 miles from each other!

I will never go there to get gas again...

  2. water in gas ruins it...urban myth...i get chevron...i like the additives techron

  3. I don't know what state or country you are in but I live in near Oklahoma City and you can pretty much get gas at any name brand location to include 7-11 and Wal-mart. Most people here go to Wal-Mart or 7-11 since it's cheaper most of the time. Philips 66 is another good place but the gas there is usually 15cents more.

It also depends on the car you drive and grade you use. I know my friends mini cooper guzzles gas like crazy if it's less than 89 grade, regardless of where she gets it. I drive a Hyundai and a Dodge pickup and I never put less than 89 grade in either. I haven't had problems.

Oh when I'm back home in Los Angeles...I only use Chevron. You can't trust the corner gas stores.

  4. No, I have never heard of any company putting water in their gas, but with all the awful things that go on in the world today, it wouldn't surprise me. I'm surprised no one mentioned Sunoco. I don't know if it's the "best" gas, but it sure seems good, and one that's near me has some of the cheapest gas in my area. Which is good to know, since gas prices are ridiculously expensive now.

I'm pretty sure Sunoco is the official gas of NASCAR. So if they use it, that alone makes it sound pretty decent to me. haha. My car didn't seem to start or run "as" well when I got gas from Mobil in the past. It wasn't anything major, just something I noticed. I also just read this on Wikipedia, which I thought was interesting.......

Sunoco is the only major gasoline retailer to sell four grades of gasoline in the U.S.: Regular (octane grade 87), Plus (89), Premium (91), and ULTRA 93. (Sun is currently in the process of removing 94 from stations and making it ULTRA 93 instead). Sunoco also once sold Economy unleaded, an 86 octane slightly cheaper than regular, in all of its markets until the mid-1990s when it was withdrawn from Pennsylvania and a handful of other states, and was phased out altogether in 2003.

Sunoco is one of the few oil companies that currently uses ethanol systemwide, which is currently being phased in at other oil companies, to comply with federal laws.

  5. Not sure if it varies between countries, but I'm guessing it does.

But for my opinion of Australian petrol companies, I'd say BP seems to be the best, followed very closely by peak.

  6. the only one I have ever heard of doing that is race trac.  But Shell and Texaco ALWAYS have higher prices in my area (by $.15).  I think they think their gas is made of gold.
