What is the best company to go to for renters insurance?

i live in alaska and want to get renters insurance. the wooden parking block in front of my building has caught on fire twice now...not good. i need a company that will be open 24/7 including holidays. does anyone know of any companies?

The best place to go for your renters insurance is where you have your auto insurance, if they offer it (some companies write auto only).

If your auto carrier does not offer renters, call a local independent agent & they can shop your auto & renters to different companies to make sure you get the best coverage for the best price.  Many companies offer a package discount (when you have home or renters coverage with the auto coverage) so both policies would be less than if you got them with separate companies.

State Farm and Country Insurance are two very good companies that I would check out.  But as mentioned before look for the multipolicy discount with your auto insurance.  there are other things that make it more appealing like common cause deductible.  Only paying 1 deductible if something happens to your stuff and car.  Check it out and good luck

Well, they aren't open 24/7 including holidays.  And they won't send an adjuster out on Christmas day, anyway.  

Best compan is the one that writes your car insurance.  Besides that, ANY A rated company that writes in Alaska, will be fine.  Go talk to a local agent.  Not all companies write in all states.  Including Alaska.
