  1. i think the i mac

  2. Windows isn't worth it

Buy a MacBook it is safe reliable and so easy to use.  Much better than anything windows related.

  3. It seems like nobody with actual computer knowledge has answered this question yet. Leopard, Vist, XP, Linux, are all operation systems, and not computers. However, if you are talking about operations systems, then the truth is that Vista SUCKS (except for the look), Xp is twice as good as vista, linux is a little bit worse than xp, and leopard is the best. Of course, this is my opinion.

  4. It depends on what you want it for.

Macs are easy to use, have little problems with viruses and such and provide lots of easy to use music, movie, and photo editing software.  However if you are interested in gaming, there are very limited options with the Mac.

XP is pretty well proven, but suffers from the same virus and hacking issues that windows is known for.  I've had xp for years but have not had many problems with viruses and never hackers, others have more problems.  It has been around for quite awhile and the bugs are mostly worked out, save for normal windows issues.

Vista is the new PC operating system and I guess has some issues.  I have been running Vista for several months now and there are some things that I don't like but nothing that is a deal breaker for me.  I know some who are more serious into computers, the programming aspects, who don't care for Vista and others that like it alright.  Vista does have directx 10 which will not be offered on XP.  However you won't really NEED this unless you are into high end gaming.

There are plenty of music, photo editing, and movie watching software available for both vista and xp but I don't think they are as easy to use as the mac versions.  However, if you are intersted in gaming you need to go with a windows project, be it vista or xp.  Having direct x 10 will become more important if you are a gamer, when and if software starts making more use of it.

The basic difference here is that I believe Windows products offer you more software options (way more for gamers) but they suffer problems and are not super easy to use.

Macs give you some great software (but it is extremely limited in games).  They don't suffer the same problems as windows and they are quite easy to use.

  5. THe best computer is the one that does what you need the easiest and to me the cheapest. Whether that be apple, windows, or *nix. Linux might be free, but it is more difficult to get the applications you want, nor the drivers for equipment (not knocking it, I have 2 linux setups). Windows might be a memory hog, but it is fairly easy to work with, has lots and lots of applications out there, and is fairly inexpensive (you can get a decent new PC today for $500). Apple tends to lock you in, a lot of hardware is not apple friendly, but more recently, this has been changing. For graphics production, it is probably the better system. Techies like *nix, Games seem to prefer Windows, and Designers seem to prefer Apple.

  6. mine!!

    lol

    xp perhaps

  7. Better colour with Xp, and you can download more programs related with imaging

  8. The best computer is one you build yourself.

  9. I personally go XP. However, neither of the others are bad. Everyone complains about Vista because of the problems it had before SP1... however now if works fine. If you go Vista though make sure to get Vista Home Premium. XP is nice because it is reliable and doesn't have too many problems. Just don't get 64 bit because a lot of programs don't work with it yet. Unless, of course, you have a virtual computer on it that has 32 bit, but that's just a hassle and makes your computer slow. Leopard is "cool", but macs just aren't my thing. Yeah with macs you get all this creative stuff, but if you are a gamer, even a little bit, nothing will work as smoothly as on a pc with XP. Like.. on WoW with my friends' mac I had to set his resolution waaay down in order for it to run semi-smoothly. Also I found macs have a lot of issues with crashing, every single one of my friends that has a mac has had it crash, and I have had to fix it. All of the crashes were due to app failures. You get the stupid Spinning Beach Ball of Death and it just freezes like that. Sucks, and happens way too often. Go XP.

  10. Vista of course!!!!!! Its New and Easy to use..Vista puts files into place

  11. Get a mac they are really fast and are much better than pc's. Apple rocks!!!

  12. Well personally:

So all my life I've used windows XP [a dell] and you know, it was tolerable. I've always wanted a new computer and i finally got one. The reason or this, after a while my dell XP was LAGGING it was SLOW and always kept FREEZING

    I got a macbook.

fastest internet i could ever imagine

    viruses=none

exciting programs like photobooth and imovie

compatible with my ipod touch, iphone, etc..

you should go mac, you'll never go back<3

  13. It depends on what you plan on doing, if you are going to be doing video editing then I would say a Mac. Outside of that I would go with Vista. The main problem for Vista outside of the newness factor is that since Microsoft can not stop you from buying sub-par parts people will buy sub-par equipment and expect everything. If you go windows buy the best your money can take you, if you need to save up for a little longer to really go out and get the best. So many people complain about all windows version, but then you look at their set-up, it is totally crappy. I mean really, really crappy.

Apple on the other hand controls the whole thing and will not sell you crappy hardware so keep that in mind.

  14. vista

  15. wait

  16. mac probably
