i have a dry annoying cough. sometimes i will be okay then all of a suden i feel a tickle in my throat and i start coughing alot! sometimes i cant even breathe =[

codiene is a very effective suppressant, but if you can't get to a doctor right away, a shot of your choice of alchohol will work for a while too.

I would have a tablespoon of honey when needed.

A mixture of lidocaine/ maalox, benadryl. I think you would need a prescription. But, you swish this stuff in your mouth and is numbs your mouth and throat.
