What is the best course of study for a prospective ambassador?

I am looking into studying international relations or a related field and would like to know what is the best for someone trying to be an ambassador.

international business is one that immediately comes to mind.

you will need to be politically savvy to get that kind of job. This means: NO DRUGS! NO arrests! No suspensions from school! Dont put up silly stuff on facebook etc.You have to pass the background check.

in other words, just about any major is probably ok, it is your character that is important.
