Question:

What is the best credit card for a college student?

I'm trying to build my credit. I'm in college and don't have any credit. I want a card that will not charge any interest or fees if I pay it off every month. (Is there such a thing?). Also, one that I can manage on-line.

Thanks for your help!

  1. A lot of credit card companies have special cards for college students that come with perks.  Check out http://www.creditcards.com/ and click on STUDENTS on the left to review some.

  2. If you pay off every purchase you charge in its entirety before the due date, then any card is fine.

  3. Any card is fine...make sure though that you read the fine print and there is no annual fee or maintenance fee.  Capital One is a popular first credit card...they will approve you with little to no credit history.  You'll probably only get a $250 limit to start, but you can build up your credit that way. :-)
