  1. This is a moving target since they all seem to change with time, so I would suggest you phone several travel agents and get a consensus... especially from ones that have themselves traveled recently!

  2. My friend's site has a part where you can brainstorm through the cruises. It goes into details about which shows you would like to see and for a low price too. It beat my church trip price. I told my church to go through that site and it beat the original fare by $83. Its pretty user friendly.

  3. Definetly Carnival to Mexico. My friends and I went last year and had a great time!

  4. I just returned from a cruise.  We went on the Explorer of the Seas, Royal Caribbean.  It was my husband, I and about 30 members of my family.  We had a great time!  The ship was so big that everyone did their own thing.  Then we would get together at dinner and talk about what everyone did.  The ship had all different age groups. GREAT TIME ready to go AGAIN

  5. Try Princess!

  6. Hi Christa!!

I think cruising is such great fun! You can't go wrong with any cruise you choose. There are differences though. I have been fortunate enough to have sailed  multiple times on the lines I am talking about.

If you want a fun, party atmoshere (towel animals, pool parties, more singles) then go with Carnival. If you want a classier ambience (decor, food, cabin service) go with princess or celebrity. If you want more in between those two (good for families) try royal caribbean.

You can find good prices on all these lines but Carnival does have some inexpensive ones. Though realize that the level of service on carnival will not match celebrity or princess. By service I mean better food, nicer decor, better entertainment,  better cabin cleaning and amenities. Just more of an "upscale" eniviroment. But if you would rather hang out by the pool or the casino, or all that "fru-fru" stuff doesn't matter, then carnival would be great for you.

Anyway...it's your choice and no matter what,  you will have a great time!

My moto is anywhere, anyship, anytime.

    Have fun & take care,

    p.s. Life's a cruise.....relax!

  7. carnival 3 day to Mexico from long beach. leaves every friday and back on monday.

  8. I would for that age group recommend Royal Caribbean or Princess.  The rates are quite reasonable with both these lines and great ships (depending on which you choose).  The newer ships will always be a bit more expensive in price.

I would discourage against Carnival and NCL myself.  That is because I have had terrible problems with NCL and Carnival the problems have been more recent and I'm not the only agent in our company who feels this way.  So many problems with them to the point that our GM sent around an email warning on if you book them to beware.

Holland American and Celebrity are good lines as well, but tend to gear towards a much older clientele.  Especially Holland.  That is a line I would say a person "Matures" into.

Remember booking cruises in advance (10 months - 1 year out) you will always get early booking discounts.  Depending on your dates (how high of season it is), you may not want to book your airfare quite that far out, but still allow plenty of time to make sure you are able to get a good price.  Flight prices are based off availability, season, fares available at that time, etc.

    Have a Great Cruise!

  9. Carnival is going to be the least expensive line, and also have a much younger age group onboard. There will also be quite a few kids since it more affordable for families. Carnival is not one of the best lines out there, and they have declined in quality over the past several years, in my opinion. The food isn't exceptional, the service could use a lot of help and the ship isn't quite as clean as some of the others, but that is just my opinion, if you have never cruised before on another line, you may not notice it as much. Also, I feel that Carnival is best if you enjoy partying and things like that, it can get pretty crazy onboard.

Royal Caribbean would be another option and my choice of the two. Depending on the cruise, it may actually run less than Carnival, but most of the time they are the same price or a little more. But, you get better service, food, the ship is cleanier, etc. The average aga onboard may be a little older than Carnival, but it is still a ton of fun, some of the ships have a slightly older passgener base, while some have a younger base. I think that the all around cruise with Royal Caribbean is better and well worth the extra money.

Either way, I would try to find a newer ship. No matter the line, newer ships are almost always more fun, cleaner, etc. Freedom of the Seas is a really great ship, but it may be a little out of your budget.

The best thing to do is read reviews on different lines and cruises. Some ships may be better for older couples, some for younger crowds, some for families, etc. The more expensive lines tend to have an older average age onboard, but it will also depend on what you are looking for onboard. If you look over some reviews, that will give you a lot of info that you need to find the best line for you. I will include a link to a really great site with reviews and info on the ships, you can also visit their message board there are tons of questions and answers on there, so just about anything you could ask has probably been answered. Otherwise, you can always post a new questions.

    Have a great time!
