  1. weekends are pretty much out of the question, because they are usually the peak of travel in the week.

i would try tuesdays, and mondays..

  2. Here is an insight.

If you are traveling to a resort destination, than weekdays will provide better prices and less traffic, depending on what airport you fly from/to.

If you are traveling to a business destination, i.e. main capitals in the US, than you have better chances to find cheaper air tickets on the weekends, most airlines offer incentives if you stay past Sunday

  3. at todays prices, I'd say yesterday.....

seriously though, try using the +/- days tool on the airlines websites and you get an idea...I know a lot of the major airlines websites have this facility - I've used it on BA, KLM, NWA, Continental etc...sometimes you have to dig thru the "advanced" search pages to find the tool, but most of them have it there somewhere...

  4. It has a large impact on pricing.  The cheapest fares are normally for outbound and return flights on Tuesday or Wednesday.  Also, flights tend to be cheaper if you stay over at least one Saturday night - Thursday to Saturday will usually be more expensive than Thursday to Monday, for example.

  5. why dont you check out the prices at a travel site: try this one http://www.ytbtravel.com/travelperfect

oh and i also heard that if you fly on a tuesday or wednesday it might be cheaper.
