What is the best day to arrive in Narita? Weekends or weekdays?

Hi there,

I do have layover in Narita and will be staying over 1 night in narita. I will be arriving at 3:00pm in Narita on Sunday and the next flight is the next day (monday) at 11:00pm.

1. Until What time the AEON shopping mall closed on sunday?

2. How about the local stores? do they open until late at night on sunday?

3. How about the Naritasan Shinshoji Temple? what time do they closed on sunday? Will I have a time to look around over there?

OR....it is the best way that I change my schedule and arrive in Narita on Monday??

Please help...

Any international airport is busy everyday of the week.

As for staying there Sunday night, I highly suggest not doing this. It is boring around that area. AEON's stores are open until 7 while the dining area is open to 9pm. The movie theater will be the last to stay open. Temples and the like usually stay open until Sun down, or 5pm, 6-ish. The same goes for other local shops.

If I were you, I'd fly in Monday, have coffee on my layover, then get back on and out!

I'm not sure when is the best time but Japan is freaking awesome.  You'll no doubt find something to do. :) Enjoy it.
