What is the best day to get married in 2009?

I wanted to get married late summer, early fall in 2009, but when I told my motherinlaw, whom I don't mind indulging, she wanted me to find out if that time was a good time to get married. She referred to the sun, and the moon and the ocean tides, I'm assuming she met cosmicly? She can be veary superstitious. Can any one help guide me to a good day? Thanks in advance.

I can't recommend an early Sunday Wedding enough to everyone.  We had a Sunday Wedding outside mid-May, and the weather was perfect!  Not too hot, not too cold... but this is Virginia, so you have to take your region's weather trends into account.

A Sunday Wedding let us hang out with family and friends on the Saturday before (Rehearsal BBQ), knowing full well the actual Wedding day would fly by.  Got to spend time with out of town guests too, had long conversations, etc... it was great.

Sunday Weddings save money!  Everyone books up for Saturday gigs, so with a Sunday Wedding, you get to have more choices in venues.

So, in conclusion...

1)  Think Weather - what would be best for your bridal party, in their hot tuxedos?  (indoor/outdoor is a factor here)

2)  Think Availability - what time of year would have more availability for your event?  Wedding season in the DC Metro area now runs from May to October.

3)  Think Time - What would be best for you and your guests in order to enjoy each others company

and finally...

4)  Think Honeymoon!  -  If you're planning a tropical getaway or a cruise, you might not want to get married during the height of hurricane season.

Setting the date should depend on booking availability, family availability and where do you want to go for your honeymoon.

As for your mother-in-law you should be wise with her as you do not want to annoy her and ask her which days around the period you chose is the best cosmically.
