I want a camera that takes a picture as soon as you click the button. My current camera has a very slight delay. I want one that has a pretty decent size zoom, mine at the moment has 10x. I want high megapixels and a camera that will take good pictures at concerts. I have friends in a band so I take a lot of pictures for the website and I need a camera that will be able to take great photos in semi-darkness and of people who are in constant motion. Also one that isn't huge, something I can slip easily into a pocket. Maybe there's no such camera out there on the market yet, but if there is I'm hoping maybe someone will know of it.

  1. The casio exilim ex-s10 is nice and it takes great pictures along with any sony cybershot. Go to ebay.

  2. Any camera will do if you're taking ordinary photos with good lights, etc, but when you mentioned "great photos in semi-darkness and people who are in constant motion", that ruled out, I am afraid, the Casio EX-S10 that was suggested.

What you need is a dSLR ** and ** a "fast" (larger aperture) lens.

I have some photos taken without flash on stage here: http://www.flickr.com/little_pooky (each photo is marked). It is almost impossible to do these shots with point and shoot cameras.

"Slip easy into a pocket" applies to point and shoot cameras but one won't do what you need. A dSLR is too large to go into a pocket. I carry mine in a bag--or two.

  3. compact digital cameras definitely cannot perform in dark areas as you expect them too.....its too much to ask from a compact.....DSLR will be the solution for you....but then you said you dont want something big..........well then, maybe you'll have to wait for the manufacturers to come up with a SUPER compact then...hehe

  4. i recommend the nikon d60 digital camera

this camera has wonderful features, great photo quality, etc

  5. The Canon G9 might suffice. I suggest reading a review of it and deciding for yourself if it will do what you need. However, all digicams suffer from shutter lag and their tiny sensors make low-light, non-flash photography almost impossible if you need really quality results.

Having said that, the cold hard reality is that, as Pooky said, a DSLR is better suited for your needs.
