  1. Hi,

I really like my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W80. I highly recommend it to you for many reasons. This is a great camera for its price. This might be the best choice for its class because it provides IS (image stabilization for shaky hands and moving objects: anti blur), 2.5 inch lcd, 7.2 megapixels and 3x optical zoom for $115.

Moreover, this is very handy, tiny and light camera that you can carry in your pocket without feeling it.

Menus and settings are very easy and clear. Some tips appear on the screen when you are using different modes, it is very helpful.

The picture is PERFECT! I took some really amazing shots with this camera - I am hooked! I highly recommend if you are looking for a small, amazing camera that you purchase this one.

The quality of the video is also good. Best benefit is a view finder and the screen at the back for the older folks who still like to take a picture by looking through the view finder.

    Good luck!

I have got my silver Sony W-80 at www.CaseyEquip.com, here is the link:

  2. I just got a Canon Powershot, 8.0 mp.  It's GREAT!  I went to a concert Friday night, sat in the nosebleed seats, but was able to get some great stage shots with it.  The zoom works really well and focuses in great, shots are clear and the screen is larger and much clearer than what I had on my old Kodak.  I am not a professional photographer, and this is perfect for me.  Easy to use, great results.

  3. Look for Sony Cybershot cameras.....

  4. Sony and Canon are tops. I prefer Canon because they use SD cards. I have the Powershot SD1000 ELPH and the SD850 IS. I recommend the 850. Both have viewfinders and provide excellent pictures. Check CNET.com for reviews and comparisons. Be carefull about picture to picture lag time and shutter lag time. Also flash recharge time. Those with L-ion batteries seem to do better than AA or AAA. Larger pixels can mean slower performance. Stay in the 7 - 10 megapixel range. If your camera has a LCD shut off switch, it can save on power if you use the viewfinder.

  5. Here's a good camera you can check out that is from $150 (Dell) to $230 MSRP that has the feature you are looking for and a great zoom - (a TTL view - you see what your lens are seeing - at the eyepiece viewer or lcd):

Here's a better one that is about $468 that has the same features with a little bit more, and a great lens (Leica):

  6. If you want the best digital camera, you need to spend a couple grand. Might I suggest the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III? It's considered by many pros the best digital camera available. It has 21 megapixels. The body alone costs $8000. And you wouldn't want to mate the body with a crappy lens, so might I suggest the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS or the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens? These retail at about $1500 each. Overall the system should go for around $10,000. It's a dream system though, but most pros who do photography can justify this expenditure.

Hey, wtf are you people giving a thumbs down for my answer. The asker did want to know the "best" digital camera, and certainly most responses have mentioned cameras that are no where near good.

  7. i love nikon and canon

    i will suggest you both..

Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical

    Price : $207.99

  8. The link below will walk you through the different features digital cameras have today and lets you pick a price range you want to spend.  By the time you are done, you will have the perfect camera for you.

  9. Look at the Canon Powershot cameras...they range differently in price and quality but are the most popular and reliable pocket digital cameras out there right now in my opinion.

  10. I use a little Canon Powershot for snapshots and it's great. I would recommend anything from that line.
