  1. If you want a camera that takes video clips then you're looking at a point & shoot camera, and not an SLR camera.

I agree that the A720IS is a pretty decent looking camera. Why not look at the Canon A590IS as well. It's a newer updated model.

  2. Fujifilm Finepix F100.  It has a larger sensor than most compact digital cameras.  It has image stabilization.

  3. Canon Powershot SD950. 12.1 MP, over 3x optical zoom, takes SD cards, takes video clips, and has a manual control option if you get good enough to operate it manually .  Get it from amazon.com for around $350.  You would be amazed at the quality of the pictures you can get with it.  Or decide on your own which point and shoot digital ELPH camera is best for you by going to http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro...

I've never used the SD890 before, so I can't tell you from experience that it's better than the SD950, but it does have 5x optical zoom.  The only thing is that if you need to use the flash the 5x optical zoom won't be much help because although the zoom can reach out far, the flash can't so if you need the flash the picture will be dark.

Nikon makes the best lenses, but on a point and shoot it realy doesn't make much of a difference.  Canon makes the best sensors, which DOES make a difference on point and shoot cameras.  If you ever get a digital SLR get a Canon for the same reason-you can always change the lens to a Nikon, but you can't change the sensor.

Hope I helped you with your decision

this camera is around two hundred dollars, look at the sellers, don't buy it for three hundred n' fifty dollars..

get this a beginner camera, so you can learn the ropes, and take really great videos and pictures..

Save up money after that so you can get a DSLR later down the line.

  5. ...Something that says Sony on it will do just GRRRREAT!

  6. I have experienced working with Canon S5IS and Canon G9. I think both cost less than $400.

S5IS is a cool digital camera which can meet many of your needs :-)
