What is the best digital cameras out now that has a Optical zoom of 6X to 10X?

I assume you mean point-&-shoots, not SLR's?

The Canon G9 looks incredible.

Remember, just looking at the spec's & the megapixel count is not a good idea, because if you're shooting through coke-bottle glass, it doesn't matter.

You need a good lens, and Canon and Nikon make the best lenses.

Are you looking for a DSLR or point and shoot?

If you're getting a DSLR, then it's all in the lens... so you'll want to get a zoom lens.

If you're looking for a point and shoot, try the Canon S5 or G9.
