I have research alot of dogs but i just need a second opinion

I can exercise this dog for 1 to 2 hours a day. I can buy him some agility course. I am very active. I am willing to play with him. I can buy him toys.

But the only problem is that I am going to school for 5 hours but i think i will just buy him a small tv so he could hear something while i am gone, so he wont be bored.

My top choices of dogs are Labrador Retriever, Siberian Husky, German Shepherd, Italian Greyhound, Jack Russell Terrier, beagle, Canaan dog and boxer

But if you have another kind of dog that you think will fit me just tell me and i will consider it.

  1. Well it doesn't sound like you'll have a problem with any breed in your current living situation.  I'm a boston terrier fan, but it's a really personal decision.

The breeds you listed are all insanely different from one another - it's hard to make a suggestion on what will fit you because you haven't really narrowed down to anything specific (big, small, working, hearding, terrier, etc.).

If you're in school I would think about what you're doing next -- possibly living on your own in an apartment, buying another house with a big yard or staying where you are.

Think about what you want in a dog, and work from there.  From your list of top choices, it doesn't sound like you know quite what you're looking for.

...and consider a Boston!  Italian Greyhounds are my next favorite.

  2. Kenneth B, I haven't had any problems with my canaan dog.

  3. you will die if you get a husky, they walk all over you...

just go to the shelter, and get a dog that fits you...NOT A PUPPY!!

puppies are easier to place, adult dogs arnt!!

  4. You would be a great family for any big active dog. All your choices could work.

  5. golden retriever

  6. German Shepherd! They love [and need] to run. SO a big backyard is perfect. Also, they are very good listeners if you teach them from a young age.

  7. A hotdog w/ mustard, pickles, and onions. that kind theres very little work involved.

  8. i had a lab and it sounds like that's the kind of dog you need. it's fits perfect;y with the dog's behavior. a german shepherd would also be okay like that but they can sometimes be a little to aggressive. i would  definitely go for a lab.
