  1. taylormade r7 is the best. 460 cc, loft up to you. it has all the provision of curing fade or draw or even straight (actually provision of acquiring) shots. range i guess more than 300 yds if you can blast well. most forgiving too. no confusion, take it guaranteed. good luck.

  2. Best driver? Right now, Kyle Busch.... oops, wrong category  ;-)

    Golf sucks.

  3. for $225 dollars you should get any driver that is last model years best and you will probably have money left over. I got an adams golf tight lies driver from walmart for $50 and it was originally a $200 driver when it first came out so go after a later year one and it is cheaper and about the same quality

  4. On dickssportinggoods(dot)com, they have a lot of good drivers for your budget. I personally have the Taylormade Burner, and I absolutely LOVE it. I used to have a major slice, but this driver is great for mis-hits and I'm able to drive it close to 300 yards as a 16 year old. You can find a driver for you price range on there.

  5. If I was to put in my two cents i would go for an older Nike SQ.....Tiger is still playing the SQ Tour, which has been outdated for over 2 years & I saw retail at my local pro shop for $189.99.

If you have the $ the new Cobra line is incredible, Aschnet really put their best foot forward this year. I have the pro speed D...easily the longest driver out there (actually being used by long drive champions) & the L4V's are great too.

If you can wait a few months Titleist is coming out with a new lineup that is a huge hit out on tour, guys who had been hitting the 905R for years are finally switching to this new driver. Go to GOLFWRX.COM for pics.

  6. Well....lets see......The #1 Selling drivers in the world are Taylormade......(are they the best?) There are a lot of companies that are chasng them for sales.  Honestly This is the time of year when companies reduce their prices to clear out inventory.  I'd imagine you could buy any driver you like for your price range.  I bought a Taylormade R7 and had it reshafted with the Proforce V2 Shaft.  I got what I was looking for.  Your driver....your decision.

Oh and don't believe all the commercials that claim they correct slices and hooks.......It just does not happen.   Equipment will not by itself overcome swing flaws.

  7. dude pay the extra for a COBRA they are thee best on the market

  8. Unfortunately, that's all it was. A commercial trying to push a product. There is not a driver(or technology) made that corrects mis-hits. If there was, you would not see the pros's push, pull, slice or over hook. And as you can see on television, they do. Now for the good news. You can! Grip, stance, alignment. There is not a teaching pro in golf that would disagree.

Drivers are a very important tool to inspire confidence. If you are catching the fairway more often than not, your score will reflect it. Try before you buy! I spent almost a week trying drivers at my pro shop that has driving range before I bought. For me, I found Taylormade a superior driver and not because of the commercials. Also, do not overlook shafts. I have a YS-7 stiff on mine. I am 57 years old and can air my driver 260 yards straight without over swinging. By trying different drivers first hand, you will know right then and there which one is best for you and at your price range. Hope this might help you.

  9. cobra, NOT the best on the market, sorry bud...as far as drivers its a FACT FACT FACT that TaylorMade is number 1 for drivers and has been for years.  As far as preference, the other day my friend let me hit his Nike Ignite 460 driver (older i know) and i was bombing that thing long and straight....drove the the front of a green on a 340 yard hole (about 10 yards away maybe) and i NEVER do that.

  10. Look at the TaylorMade R5s/R7s. They are pretty cheap and have a great feel to them. If you like new things, look at the Nike SQ or the Sumo.

  11. First of all, there is no such thing as "the best driver" - you can use any type of driver head, and if the shaft fits your swing, you will hit it longer and straighter than any of the $300-$500 drivers. Don't buy into any of the advertising hype, see a qualified custom clubfitter who can analyze your SWING and inform you of what type of shaft you need to play to fit your swing

  12. Go to Disckssporting goods and get the Taylor Made burner its on sale right now for $199.  Excellent club and forgiving
