  1. find something under 600CC. I learned on whats called a Super Sherpa. It was a dual sport meaning it looked like a off road bike but it was street legal. Very fun to ride. I beleive it was either 150 or 250 CC. There are a lot of fun easy to ride bikes. If fast acceleration and speed intimidates you stay away from sports bikes with edgy throttles. Go with something a little more forgiving until you are comfortable!

  2. Depending on your size, I would say an older 600, 2000 and up.

Is this a street bike or a dirt bike?

  3. That's quite a blanket statement.

It all depends on what type of riding you plan on doing.  The roads you plan on using.  The amount of money you can afford to spend, etc.

  4. I've been riding for about 3 years now.  I taught myself to ride on a 81 (?) honda cb650.  That was a great size and smooth.  Don't start too big or too expensive because chances are you will drop your first bike, it's also fun to watch your bikes grow as your skills grow.  How big are you?  I'm 5'7".  If you are around my size I would suggest something between a 500cc and a 750cc.  Anyways have fun with the ride.
