  1. OMG! it will kinda be hard to learn if you don't know it already...but you should totaly play "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" it's like the bestest fiddle song in the world! and if you can get a guy to sing it for you...that would bring your preformance off the roof!!!!!! it'll be sweet...but if you don't play that song...i wish you luck in whatever you choose! :)

  2. What kind of performance is it? Who will you be playing with, what instruments do they play, and how many tunes are you going to do?

Most importantly, what style of fiddle music are you going to be playing - bluegrass, old-time, Irish, Cajun, klezmer, New England, Swedish..???

Each of these different styles has their own specific repertoire; without knowing more about what kind of fiddle music you intend to play, I can't advise you about what tunes to play.

Oh, and FYI -- if it has words to be sung, its a SONG.  If its instrumental dance music, its a TUNE.

  3. the late John Harford recorded many fiddle songs on the Flying Fish record label. many are humorous.

  4. the devil went down to Georgia, canon in d major.
