  1. Joe yer off by a mile

The FJR 1300 is the top of the sport/touring chain, and BMW makes the finest touring machines.

  2. Best Cruiser Bike, Yamaha V Star 650-1100-1300

Best Sport, Naked Bike, Yamaha FZ6

Best Sport, Touring Bike, Honda Interceptor

Best Dual Sport Bike: Suzuki DRZ400S

Best Sport, Crotch Rocket, Honda CBR600R

Best Scooter, Suzuki Burgman Exec, 650

Best Economy Bike, Kawasaki Ninja 250

TO; Mr Bad Co,,  yes, ur right the BMW and the FJR Sport Bike is the top touring bikes, BUT THEY COST A FORTUNE!

I was suggesting good FIRST, AFORDABLE bikes

yes,the Interceptor is over $10K, but that bike is beautiful, its sooo smooth its like ur riding on air and that vtech 800cc engine will almost match the perfomance of any bike

The Interceptor is my dream bike, take one for a test ride if you have the chance, you'll love it!

  3. The best answer is the one you didn't ask, yet.  It's likely you need to add something no one else can.  You need to sit on the bike, make sure it's not too big or too small for you, and you like the feel of it.  Especially just sitting there on it.  If your feet can't touch the ground on a bike, it would obviously move your mind away from such a choice.

Some bikes have higher center of gravity, and thus feel heavier than their counterparts that weigh more.

Sit on it, turn it from lock to lock (hard right to hard left), move the weight around between your legs and see how comfortable you are supporting it.

I highly recommend a Motorcycle Safety Course, BEFORE you buy.  You'll be glad to be an informed consumer, and you will likely find the best bike for you isn't the most popular bike in the world, which can give you a huge bargaining chip at the register, when it has to be paid for.

    Ride safe!

  4. well,i think thse are a bit high on the cc's for a 1st bike........I have just started out, and if it's your 1st time, then an automatic may be your best bet to learn the ropes, like me..

I used to ride an MTX 125, but that was an off roader, and it was geared......but if u know geared bikes, i'd reccomend that, but if you'd like to start with an automatic (twist n go), they tend to be lighter, so if you fall off, you can pick it back up, and get your leg from underneath it, as a hot exhaust on your leg is no fun!!! this is another reason to get a twist n go 4 a 1st bike...the exhaust is usually set back, so it wont touch your leg! My reccommendation would be to get a Sym City Hopper for your 1st bike, 50cc, it pulls away at good speet, so is perfect for the city, or in rush hr,when everyone is in a hurry, i find i can pull away faster than cars on traffic lights, roundabouts n stuff, so you can get to your position on the road in time for cars to overtake, as all you'll be to them is a nuisance, so getting out the way is to your advantage......msg me if you want more info on other bikes, or his one, i got mine for £150 with helmet, and sent off for logbook, which i now have (cost £25 to send off for it). it passed MOT with flying colours, even though it had been left standing for 5yrs!!! and i got my insurance (£7 per month, or £110 odd for the yr), tax (about £30 for the yr)....and i was off!!! it's a w reg, so not old! you can find mopeds cheap, and so many ppl are using them now, as they're cheap, and reliable! I fill my tank with unleaded for £6!!!and it lasts me a week of riding to work!!! (about 20 miles a day) and i go to my mums and stuff too....on this £6 worth of petrol!

bigger than a 125cc, and your looking at the bike drinking your petrol......the list below is a good list, but not if your starting out, and not if your looking for a cheap runner!!! start on one of them, any you'll wrap yourself round it, or some poor sod's car!lol!

i hope you find the perfect bike!!!xx

    there's a link to reccomendations........though most are geared!x

  5. Joe has a good list.  Go sit on the kind you like that he mentions and see if it fits you and check out the ones that are simular to it also.  He has a good round size and all so se what all brands have in that class.
