What is the best fish to have as a pet?

I just kind of was sitting here and decided i wanted a pet fish...I don't want a gold fish. I have had beta fish in the past and I love them :) Though i kind of want a change. I need a fish that can fit a smallish fish bowl, so no giant fish that needs an aquarium. so the fish bowl would be around this big:

and could you tell me exactly how to care for the fish you tell me, because i dont want to mess up xD even though fish are pretty easy i would like to know ahead of time what food they need, and other care. If you have any other pets that arnt fish you would like to share go ahead xD I cant really have any bigger animals because i have a very old dog that wouldnt be able to handle that. No rodents either, my mom wont let me. I need something that can stay in my room, and wont smell. Thanks in advance!

If you want a pet fish i would buy a betta i love Betta's and their really easy to take care of but you have to buy Betta Water Conditioner witch is only like 3$ buy that and add only a little to the water.

Sorry no fish can fit in there just a betta. Fishes will get stressed and die if they don't get the right fish tank. Bettas are tropical fish and live around 75F to 85F. They eat betta food and live in tanks with 1 gallon to 5+ gallons.

I have a kissing gourami a comet goldfish 2 black mollies and a dwarf puffer fish.

Get a betta

they are cheap.

they can live in small tanks if needed.

they dont need a filter

and theydont eat much.

The only type of fish you can put in that tank are ghost shrimps. And frequent water changed like every 5 days. My advice, invest in a bigger tank. At least 10 gallon. Then you'll have more fish choices.
