  1. Check out bamboo flooring its very durable and it is beautiful also its reasonsble

  2. In rooms that have water, you want flooring that will stand up to the water for the most part so you can clean it up so tile or linoleum is really the best options for those types of rooms (kitchen, bathroom, mud room and laundry room). As for the rest of the house, I prefer wood flooring throughout as it is easier to clean, more sanitary as it does not hold onto bacteria, allergens and viruses like carpeting. No matter how clean you think a carpet is, lifting it up will dash all of your hopes. real wood floors are optimal to laminate wood floors as it is more durable, you can clean it better using a sprayer filled with 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water to sanitize and deodorize without harming the finish and the real wood flooring can be sanded and refinished whereas the laminate cannot be refinished, traps water underneath (causing mold and lifting of the floor) and is truly not cleanable.

  3. Flooring is HUGELY subjective.  Everyone has their own tastes and budget.  Personally, I like ceramic tile for kitchens, bathrooms, and entryways.  Hardwood for living room and dining room, and either wood or carpet for bedrooms.  There are different grades within each type of floor as well, so the options are endless.  Hope this helps.
