  1. In my garden, they seem to like my Tutti Fruity agastache, Jacob Cline monarda, and several of my hostas this year.  I've also heard that they like cardinal flower (lobelia) as well as many other trumpet shaped blossoms?  Four o'clocks, maybe?

You can also supplement with sugar water syrup in feeders (4:1 ratio of water to sugar).  And I've read that they like water misters, too.

  2. Another plant that has trumpet shapes blossoms as they have a long thin beak and it is much easier for them to get the nectar from these blossoms than the flat blossoms. Also they love the colour red and are attracted to it.

  3. We've had good luck with petunias.  Bright colors attract the most birds.

  4. In my yard the hummingbirds have hundreds of flowers to choose from and their favorite is the red bee balm. It is easy to grow, tall so cats can't grab them, and looks color full and attractive.
