For everyone's information, between six and eight weeks is the perfect time to take a puppy from it's litter and mum. It's an myth that you have to waint eight weeks. Source: Any good dog book. Not opinions of other owners!

  1. Shea, I haven't had any problems with my springer spaniel.

  2. 6 weeks is way too early for her to have been taken from her mother.  Shame on the breeder for letting her go so early!

That said, start her on soft puppy food and gradually mix in the dry stuff.  Ask the person you got her from what they were feeding the puppies and get some of that to start with.  If you want to switch brands, do it gradually - mix the 'old' food in with small quantities of the new food so she can get used to the change and not have digestive problems due to a sudden switch.

edited to add:  I don't know what 'good dog books' you are reading, or what ignorant "breeder" told you six weeks is ok, but there is a reason it is considered unwise, unhealthy and in some states even illegal.  I also don't know why you just assume people on here automatically don't know what we are talking about.

  3. Her mother's milk and puppy mash fed by her breeder for another week.

  4. Unless you got her from a bad breeder she should still be with her Mom and the breeder will be feeding her. Otherwise you will need to feed her a good quality puppy food that has been moistened. Good luck you will need to start puppy class as soon as you can as she has missed out on some vital socialization time with Mom and litter mates. in my State it is illegal to separate Mom from the puppies before they are 8 weeks old.
